3D-2N Trekking Summit Rinjani – Lake

The Rinjani trek spans 3 days and 2 nights, starting from Sembalun village and ending at the summit, lake, and crater rim of Senaru.

This program is suitable for experienced climbers or those who are physically strong and able to walk up and down hills for up to 8 hours per day.

The itinerary for the Rinjani Trek, which spans 3 days and 2 nights via Sembalun, is as follows:
Arrival day: We will pick you up at Lombok Airport and transfer you to the hotel in Senaru. Your trekking guide will give you a briefing to better prepare you for the trip.

Day 1, Rinjani Trek: 3 days: Senaru village (601 m), Sembalun village (1100 m), and Sembalun crater rim (2639 m).
Wake up at 6:00 a.m. and get breakfast. After that, we’ll drive to Sembalun village and register at the Rinjani information center.

Around 8:00 a.m., the trekking begins in Sembalun village. We begin with a gentle ascent through open grassland. After about 2 hours of walking, we’ll reach pos 1 (1300 m)  and another 40 minutes to pos 2 (1500 m). We will continue walking to Post 3 (1800 m) and have lunch there.

After lunch and rest, we’ll head to the Sembalun crater rim (2639 m). It takes 3 hours, including a prolonged, steep climb. We will camp the night at the crater rim. We can enjoy the awesome views of the sunrise and sunset.

Day 2, Rinjani Trek, 3 days: Sembalun crater rim (2639 m) -Summit (3726 m)-Segara Anak Lake and Hot Spring (2000 m)-Senaru Crater Rim (2641 m)
Around 2:00 a.m., hot drinks and a light breakfast awaken us under the cover of darkness. We’ll start heading to the Rinjani Summit at 3:00 a.m. We begin with a moderate climb, followed by a fairly straightforward but longer walk. The final approach to the summit involves a steep climb over loose volcanic scree.

At 6:00 am, we’ll reach the summit, and we can celebrate our accomplishment with the beautiful sunrise and panoramic view oflombok island, Bali island, Sumbawa island, and Segara Anak lake.

After that, we’ll descend back down to the Sembalun crater rim in 2 hours and have breakfast there. We’ll continue our journey down to the lake and hot spring. The trail down is steep and a bit slippery, and it takes 2.5 hours to get there. We stop at the lakeside for some rest.

Here, we can enjoy the lake view and swim in it. The hot spring can soothe away your aches and pains from the trek and is widely known for its natural healing powers. Our porters will prepare lunch for us. After lunch break, we’ll leave the lake and climb up to the Senaru crater rim (2641 m)—our campsite for the night. Senaru crater rim has the second most spectacular view after the summit. We will enjoy the incredible sunset over Mount Agung in Bali, as well as the smoke from the new volcano by the lake.
