Mt. Rinjani Trekking Information Center

The entire trekking route on Mount Rinjani Lombok, which spans up to 50 km and includes more than 10 km of descent and ascent, typically takes a few days to complete.

Mount Rinjani trekking can be done:
1. By using the services of a local Rinjani Trek organizer, such as Sembalun or Senaru, you can fully appreciate the scenery, capture numerous photos, and walk with only a small backpack (day pack) that contains personal needs and weighs about 5 kg. Porters carried all camping equipment, foods, and drinks.

2. You can hike to Mount Rinjani completely independently, bringing all the necessary food and camping equipment with you. This option affords you greater flexibility to plan, adhere to your preferences, and travel to your preferred destination at any time.

Information on Trekking Rinjani Mountain

In general, trekking to Mount Rinjani is open from early April until the first or second week in January. Book hotel rooms in Senaru or Sembalun village along the corresponding ascent path, particularly if you plan to climb during the peak season from mid-July to mid-September.

The beginning of the climbing season is the quietest and most beautiful because the entire savanna and trees are still green on all treks in the pass. However, be mindful of the potential rainy season, which can make the trek from Crater Rim Sembalun to the lake, from the lake to Crater Rim Senaru until Post 2 Senaru slippery and, in some places, frequent landslides. Don’t forget to bring a raincoat.

Don’t forget to bring enough drinking water, register your identity, and pay an entrance fee at the Rinjani Trek Center Senaru if you hike via Senaru village, or at the Rinjani Information Centre Sembalun if you climb via Sembalun village.
